Welcome! This year marks 56 years of excellence in the
performing arts in our community, and none of it would be
possible without you, our incredible patrons. On behalf of
everyone at the Northwest Florida Ballet, thank you for your
support, encouragement and partnership.
If you joined us at our downtown Fort Walton Beach studio for the Emerging Choreographers’ Project Blackbox, you know our season is already off to a terrific start. Now, as you
join us for our 46th annual production of The Nutcracker, we know this classic holiday
fairytale will delight children and adults of all ages.
As the only full-length version in the area, The Nutcracker includes an extraordinary cast
of more than 140 performers, including NFB company members, international guest
artists, and more than 100 local children. You’ll also enjoy live musical accompaniment to
the production by the talented musicians of the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra,
led by NFB Music Director David Ott.
We would also like to invite you back in the spring, as NFB returns to the Mattie Kelly Arts
Center March 7-8 to conclude our season with the company’s premiere of Alice in Wonderland. Choreographed and conceived by the distinguished choreographer Jill Eathorne
Bahr, Alice in Wonderland is an innovative adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s literary masterpiece. As an original full-length ballet, the production showcases a compelling fusion of
neoclassical dance and surreal storytelling, featuring international guest artists and NFB
company members set to a meticulously engineered musical score.
