PRINCIPAL SINGERS / GUEST ARTISTS
Sarah Vautour , Soprano
Vautour is a recent graduate of the Domingo-Colburn-Stein Young
Artist at Los Angeles Opera. She made her company debut as the Dew
Fairy in Humperdinck’s Hänsel and Gretel under the baton of Maestro
James Conlon, was heard as Papagena in Die Zauberflöte, and was
scheduled to perform as Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro. A resident of
Berlin, Vautour made her European debut in 2021, singing both the
roles of Tebaldo and Il voce dal cielo in Don Carlo with Theater Bonn.
In 2022, she joined the Neubrandenburg Philharmonic as a soloist in a
series of concerts entitled Walzerträume and was heard as the soprano
soloist in Carmina Burana with the Amarillo Symphony. She has also
performed in Daniel Catán’s Il postino with Opera Santa Barbara, Detroit
Opera’s Breaking the Waves and the Memphis Symphony’s production
of Carmina Burana.
Christopher Bozeka, Tenor
Bozeka is quickly becoming recognized for his “expressively captivating”
performances, as well as his “beautiful, piercing tone” (San Francisco
Chronicle). The summer 2023 season included two exciting debuts,
including that of Alfredo Germont in La traviata with Opera Las Vegas
and his company and role debut at Central City Opera singing Rodrigo
in the rarely performed Rossini’s Otello. He also appeared as a soloist
with the New Mexico Gay Men’s Chorus for Christopher Tin’s oratorio,
To shiver the sky. In the upcoming 2023-2024 season, he returns to
the Metropolitan Opera as Abdallo in Nabucco, appears in recital with
the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta and returns to sing for the Il
Cenacolo Italian Club’s Opera Outing for a second year in a row.
Benjamin Taylor, Baritone
Taylor returned this season to Opera Philadelphia for Simon Boccanegra
(Paolo). Other season engagements include his debut with Austin
Opera for Pagliacci (Silvio) and returns to The Metropolitan Opera for
Carmen (Moralès), Detroit Opera for Breaking The Waves (Jan), and
Bayerische Staatsoper for La fanciulla del West (Bello). Last season
Taylor debuted at Boston Lyric Opera in La bohème (Schaunard)
followed by debuts with Bayerische Staatsoper for La fanciulla del West
(Bello), OperaDelaware/Opera Baltimore for La traviata (Germont),
and Opera Philadelphia for La bohème (Schaunard). He returned to The
Metropolitan Opera for The Magic Flute (Papageno) and Dialogues des
Carmélites and Berkshire Opera Festival for La bohème (Marcello).
